Nicholas Finch comes from the mind of Joshua Williamson, creator of the Nailbiter series released through Image Comics. Nicholas Finch is an NSA agent, on a mission to find out what happened to his obsessed FBI profiler friend, Carroll. Finch ends up in Buckaroo, Oregon, which just so happens to be the birthplace of 16 serial killers (what’s in THAT water?).
When we’re first introduced to Finch we see that he’s struggling with some serious sh*t, that has him contemplating death. Finch reminds me of the Luther character, played by Idris Elba.
When Finch arrives in Buckaroo, he experiences the crazy town folk and has an interesting conversation with
one of the serial killers, Warren, who was found not guilty almost a year ago.
During Finch’s “stay” in Buckaroo, he has saved a young girl, been attacked by a swarm of bees, seen his share of dead bodies (stabbed, burned and hung), and almost killed a few times. What is it with this damn town? Finch just wants to find his friend and get the hell out of dodge. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. Nothing in Buckaroo is easy.
Carroll is eventually found, but he’s not the man that he once was and now Finch wants to handle things his way. Alas, someone from Finch’s past has landed in Buckaroo and we find out exactly why Finch was contemplating blowing his brains out when we first meet him. Or do we?
Nailbiter is currently on issue 10, which is out today.
While I’m not sure where Joshua Williamson is taking Agent Finch, this preview cover has me rather worried.
Pick up Nailbiter Volume 1 and get to know Nicholas Finch. Volume 1 collects issues 1-5.
