#BlackComicsMonth – March 3rd – Le Beau Underwood – Marvel Comics Preview: Angela: Asgard’s Assassin #4

BlackComicsMonthSpotlight

While working on February’s BlackComicsMonth, I found out that a book I just LOVE from Marvel was drawn by Le Beau Underwood, an insanely talented black artist. I was HYPED that I was inadvertently supporting black creators. I’m not sure if you’ve picked up this book, but let me tell you, this is some family drama that not even the combined efforts of Maury, Jerry Springer, Steve Wilkos, Dr. Phil AND Oprah could fix. DRAH-MA!!! Issue #4 drops tomorrow and it definitely doesn’t look like Angela will be invited to the family BBQ and doing the Asgardian version of the Electric Slide remixed by Lady Sif anytime soon. Add this series to your pull list, it’s pretty great. I’ll see if I can dig out my previous 3 issues to give away digital copies so you can see the awesomeness for yourself. In the meantime, let’s check out this preview, shall we?

• We’ve been to Earth for street level Marvel fun. We’ve been to the Nine Realms for fantasy Marvel fun. Next up: deep space, for (er) deep space Marvel fun.

• Can Kieron and Marguerite resist the chance to write the characters from last year’s awesome summer blockbuster? Clue: Rhymes with Nardians of the Galaxy.

• (Of course not, you silly bears.)
