This #BlackComicsMonth title is more than just “blacks in comics”, there’s so much diversity in this series that just warms my heart and soul. Body image, sexual orientation/preference, and of course the fact that the writer and artist, Sophie Campbell, on Jem and the Holograms series has recently come out as a transwoman.
Now, those aren’t the only reasons why the Jem and the Holograms series is a MUST HAVE, it reminds me of the cartoon that I fell in love with so much. Each issue is like a 30 minute episode. I love it and THIS is what the Jem movie should be about, instead of whatever that is. Anywho, check out the preview from Jem & The Holograms #4 below, pick it up and spread the word.
